June 7, 2013 planned route, Day 21

Today leg will take almost back to the lower 48 states of the United States. Leg length will be 471 miles and from what I‘ve read, this leg should be a very beautiful ride. After today’s ride my trip length completed 10,105 miles. I’m thinking that I will spend at least 1 complete day in Vancouver without moving to Seattle, but I will make this decision on the fly and it will likely have more to do with weather, how I feel, and what needs to be done to the R1200GSA.

June 11, 2013 planned route, Day 25

The last of my new routes from the days I saved from Alaska. I will cross back into the United States and land in Bremeton. This will set me up to visit Touratech facility that sells motorcycle gear made specially for Dual Sport bikes. Primary busy comes from BMW owners. After I leave here it is off to Mount Washington to camp rain or shine. There will be no blog post the day after this ride until I reach wi-fi again. Leaving this area, I will begin my adventure down the Pacific Coast highway system.

June 10, 2013 planned route, Day 24

So this is a major route change and I'm spending day 2 that I saved in Alaska on Vancouver Island. The route below was a Road Runner Route out of a magazine and confirmed by a few locals in Vancouver. The left you see running west or left off the primary route, is suppose to be the best motorcycle road in Bristish Columbia. We shall see. Another short day to allow me to smell the roses a bit at 302 miles

June 9, 2013 planned route, Day 23

This is a route adjustment from time saved in Alaska. I will be taking the ferry over to Vancouver Island and touring very slowly. As Gary mace would say, "Smelling the Roses." Mileage wise very short for me at 280 miles.

June 8, 2013 planned route, Day 22

Screen Shot 2013-04-07 at 7.03.32 PMSo I’m here, the top of my Canadian route and it is now time to reverse course and head back to the lower 48 states of the United States. Here is a preview of the next 5 days that it will take me to reach Vancouver, Canada. There are some extra long days that I have laid out, one being 537 and one 649 and I figure by this time in my trip I should be seasoned. Meaning that I will be use to driving long legs, some in dirt which slow me down, so traveling on hard surface should make it easier to lay down miles.

Today the goal is to reverse course out of Inuvik and end up in Eagles Plain or further south if road conditions allow. There is also the fact that I have to consider and that is where I sleep if I do decide to pass by Eagles Plain, because from what I read, there is not much out here in these parts. Mileage goal today is 224 and that will give me a total of 8014 miles.

June 7, 2013 planned route, Day 21

Planned leg today takes me from Eagles Plains to the furthest point north in Canada that I will travel, Inuvik, Yukon. It’s a very short 225 miles of what I understand is very difficult road. Total after today should be around, 7790 miles. I will also be crossing 3 rivers by ferry on this part of my adventure.

June 6, 2013 planned route, Day 20

Today is to travel from Whitehorse to Eagle Plain 257 miles on my first leg of the Dempster highway. If it rains, I hear this road while be a nightmare and I will not be able to carry any meaningful speed. This will bring my trip total to 7565 miles.
